Russia attempted a total of 220 offensive efforts in the Pokrovsk axis, including 32 in the past day.

That’s according to the spokesman for the Khortytsia Grouping of Troops, Nazar Voloshyn, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"At the moment, the Pokrovsk axis remains the hottest on the entire line of combat. There were almost 220 attacks in the past week, including 32 in the past 24 hours," Voloshyn said.

According to the spokesperson, four assaults have been repelled since this morning while six more combat clashes are ongoing.

"Our Defense Forces are currently inflicting both fire damage on the invaders and trying to repel the enemy advance as the Russians keep exerting pressure on that axis. Russia’s main efforts are likely focusedon breaking through our defense lines and further developing an offensive toward the settlements of Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selidove because the situation in the Netaylov area is worsening. The enemy also does not stop trying to advance in other areas, including toward Kurakhove and Pokrovsk, in order to develop an offensive just west of Avdiivka and Maryinka. After Ocheretyne they are pushing their way toward the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway,” the official stated.

He noted that in the Pokrovsk axis, Ukraine’s forces are seeing intensified Russian attacks for the second consecutive week. The Russian army applies massive fire pressure to support ground assault units.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, five battles are ongoing in the Pokrovsk axis. Ukrainian defenders have already repelled one of these attacks.
