Since beginning of day, 62 combat engagements took place on frontline, Russian army continues to attack in several directions

Russian troops continue to use aircraft and attack in several directions, most actively in Pokrovske, while Ukrainian defenders are holding strong.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 18:30 on Sunday, 9 June, Ukrinform reports.

As noted, the total number of enemy attacks along the entire frontline has increased to 62 since the beginning of the day.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian army became more active in the areas of Pishchane and Nevske, increasing the number of attempts to improve its positions there to nine.

Russian troops also attacked near Hrekivka in the Lyman sector. In total, they have attempted six attacks in this area of the frontline since the beginning of the day. The invaders used guided aerial bombs in the areas of Serebryansky Forest, Novosadove, Novoyehorivka and Petropavlivka.

Nine firefights took place in the Kramatorsk sector during the day. Fighting continues in the area of Kalynivka.

Russian troops remain the most active in the Pokrovske sector. 23 times today there were clashes of varying intensity. At the moment, fighting continues in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Novoselivka Persha and Novopokrovske.

Russian aviation fired guided missiles at Skuchne, Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka and Ivanivka throughout the day. The Russian army's five attempts to improve its positions are still ongoing.

In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.

"The defence forces continue to repel the enemy and inflict maximum losses along the entire front line," the General Staff said.

As Ukrinform reported, the Russian army attacked four times in the Kharkiv sector today.
