Border guards: activity of enemy subversive reconnaissance groups decreased in Sumy region
This was stated by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, on the air of the United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Over the last period, we have seen a certain decrease in the activity of shelling in the Sumy region, compared to, for example, spring. At the same time, the number of attempts by enemy subversive reconnaissance groups to enter the territory of Ukraine and the number of clashes with them have decreased in the Sumy sector. Previously, several times a week there could be attempts to enter subversive reconnaissance groups, their exposure and, in fact, clashes to drive such groups out of Ukraine. Recently, there have been no attempts by enemy subversive reconnaissance groups to enter Ukraine," he said.
Demchenko stressed that the situation in this area remains fully controlled, and no enemy advance is recorded. He also added that Russia continues to shell the territory of Ukraine, in particular Sumy region, using a variety of weapons. According to him, the enemy is not only trying to hit the locations of the Defence Forces of our country, but is also targeting populated areas, which is causing civilians and civilian infrastructure on the border.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian troops regularly change the tactics of attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure.
