British intel: Russia has supporters of more belligerent approach to war against Ukraine
According to Ukrinform, the UK Ministry of Defence reported this on social media platform X.
It is noted that the owner of the Russian nationalist TV channel Tsargrad, Konstantin Malofeev, is a sponsor of the nationalist student movement Brotherhood of Academics.
This organisation has branches in various Russian universities and adheres to a militant imperialist worldview. According to the Brotherhood, the 21st century could be a golden age for Russian culture with Russian ideological dominance on a global scale.
Intelligence experts noted that the Brotherhood of Academics has organised military training, and some members of the organisation, which is absolutely hostile to Ukrainian statehood, went to fight in Ukraine.
The intelligence analysts noted that the existence of this movement clearly indicates that there are supporters of a more belligerent approach in Russia to the war against Ukraine and the West.
"This is likely to have an impact on the generational change that is likely to take place in Russia's administrative elite by the end of this decade," the British defence ministry said.
As Ukrinform reported, in a previous report, British intelligence analysed the consequences for Russia of Ukrainian strikes on military targets in the temporarily occupied Crimea and airfields in Russia.
