The spokesman for the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, commenting on the recent explosions in Sevastopol, said Ukraine does not inflict fire damage on civilian objects, and that the Russians neglect the safety of the civilian population.

The official spoke on the air of the Radio Svoboda project "Svoboda.Ranok", Ukrinform reports.

"We do not inflict fire damage on civilian objects, civilian population clusters. If such an incident took place, the Ukrainian authorities repeatedly warned that people should avoid locations nearby military bases and other military facilities in Crimea. If the information is correct and among those killed are people who, in fact, came to Ukrainian Crimea from the so-called Russian Federation, then the question is more about them than about the circumstances under which they were injured," Pletenchuk said.

According to the official, the reports from Sevastopol are being verified, and the information available in the public domain only suggests that the Russians are once again treating the civilian population with neglect.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the evening of June 23, explosions rang out in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

In Sevastopol, according to tentative reports from the Russian side, more than 120 people were injured and five – killed amid a missile attack and air defense efforts.
