Ukrinform
Georgian President  Salome Zourabichvili has stated that the country's defense capability is threatened by the postponement of joint military exercises with the United States.

News Georgia reports this, according to Ukrinform.

According to the Georgian leader, the postponement of military exercises harms Georgia's strategic partnership with the United States.

"This poses a great threat to our defense capability and everything that has built our army so far," Zourabichvili said.

According to the president, the postponement of the exercises was due to the fact that the Georgian authorities "did not understand where their friends are and where their enemies are."

She also added that isolation will not be able to bring peace to Georgia. "We will be left without partners and we will not have any resources to strengthen our army to defend the country," Zourabichvili said.

As Ukrinform reported, on July 5, the United States decided to postpone the Noble Partner military exercises with Georgia indefinitely due to a review of bilateral relations.

The Pentagon explained that the decision is related to false accusations by the Georgian government against the United States and other Western powers of trying to force Georgia to open a second front against Russia in order to ease the pressure [of Russia - ed.] on Ukraine, as well as in participating in two coup attempts against the ruling party.
