Every month Russia drops 3,500 bombs on Ukraine - Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine emphasized this in an interview with the BBC during a visit to the UK, Ukrinform reports.
"They use 3,500 aerial bombs every month against civilians. We will never have the same number of missiles. It would be very expensive. And no one in the world is able to produce such a number of missiles for air defense each month," he said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine needs capabilities to be able to target the enemy wherever their warplanes are based – at military airfields. "Russia should be afraid of attacking us with these planes," the president said.
Zelensky once again noted he is waiting for a positive decision on allowing Ukraine to use longer-range weapons, supplied by partners, against targets deep inside Russia.
"We need a lot of support from the prime minister (of the UK - ed.). We need this decision on the use of long-range weapons. We really need it... I am not putting pressure on the new prime minister. He has only been in office for 14 days, I understand that it’s not easy. He is yet to answer all questions. Therefore, I have only one request, precisely this one," Zelensky said.
The president added that he is counting on the UK leadership in this regard, as such a positive decision would encourage other nations as well.
As reported, in July, Ukraine expects to strengthen its air defenses.
