Zelensky about Putin: He is not very smart and ruthless, which makes him dangerous
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the BBC during his visit to the UK, Ukrinform reports.
"He [Putin] is very fond of power, and this is not very smart. It's primitive to cling to it with everything you can. He clings to the number of people tortured in Ukraine, and before that there was Chechnya, Georgia, Abkhazia and many different conflicts. Mass murder, torture in order to stay in power... Even if you want to keep your power, you have to learn how to do it without victims. And that's why I don't think he's very smart. He is ruthless. That's why I consider him dangerous," Zelensky said.
He stressed that although Putin does not do anything with his own hands but gives orders, this does not relieve him of responsibility.
In response to a question about how the President of Ukraine would describe Putin, Zelensky called him a "pragmatic killer".
"I don't think that killers have any particular characteristics. It's not about talent... We are talking about killers. They are different. There are emotional ones, and there are very pragmatic ones. I would say that he is a pragmatic killer," Zelensky added.
As reported, the President of Ukraine visited the UK on 18-19 July. On 18 July, he took part in the summit of the European Political Community.
Zelensky also had an audience with King Charles III of the United Kingdom, held talks with the new Prime Minister, Keir Strachan, and became the first foreign guest to attend a British government meeting this century.
