Russian occupation forces have intensified assault operations in the Vremivka sector of the front but have accumulated forces in Zaporizhzhia region not for a major offensive, but to attempt to breach the defense of Ukrainian forces.

That is according to Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, who spoke on a televised broadcast, Ukrinform reports.

"The enemy has stepped up assault actions in the Vremivka sector using small assault infantry groups. These are sometimes supported by armored vehicles or armored groups. However, the enemy's buildup here is not sufficient for a large-scale offensive. Instead, the goal is to conduct continuous assault actions, trying to penetrate deeper into our defenses and seize positions. Ukrainian Defense Forces are largely repelling these attacks and working to stabilize the line of contact."

Voloshyn noted that the enemy carries out approximately 20 assaults daily in this area, aiming to advance toward Velyka Novosilka, the largest settlement in the vicinity, as part of efforts to gain control over Donetsk region entirely.

As reported earlier, Russian forces are also amassing troops in the Kinburn Spit area to maintain defense lines and prevent Ukrainian forces from crossing the Dnipro River.
