War update: 156 combat clashes in past day, most battles in Pokrovsk, Toretsk sectors

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 08:00 on Wednesday, February 19, Ukrinform reports.

Yesterday, the Russians launched three missile attacks and 94 air strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, used 4 missiles and 144 guided aerial bombs.

In addition, the enemy made over 5,600 attacks, including 89 MLRS attacks and deployed 2,386 kamikaze drones.

The Russian army carried out air strikes, particularly in the areas of Hremiachka, Romashkove, Marchykhina Buda, Cherkaska Lozova, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, and Piatykhatky.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces and artillery hit eight areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, five artillery systems, four command posts, one air defense facility, as well as two other important objects of the Russian invaders.

In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled two enemy attacks in the areas of Mala Shapkivka and Topoli

In the Kupiansk sector, there were 16 combat engagements near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Zahryzove and Lozova.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 12 Russian attacks. The invaders concentrated their main efforts on the areas of Kopanky, Makiivka, Novoliubivka and Yampolivka.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled four enemy attacks near Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, and Verkhniokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the advancement of the invaders near Vasiukivka and in the direction of Oleksandro-Shultyne was successfully halted by Ukrainian troops.

In the Toretsk sector, the enemy attempted to advance 18 times in the areas of Krymske, Diliivka, Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 50 attacks. The enemy troops were most active in the vicinity of Tarasivka, Vodiane Druhe, Malynivka, Promin, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Nadiivka, Kotliarivka, Novooleksandrivka, Zaporizhzhia, Oleksiivka, Novotoretske, Andriivka, Dachne, Shevchenko and Ulakly.

The Ukrainian forces have successfully held back the enemy in the Novopavlivka sector, while in the area of Rozdolne and in the directions of Kostiantynopil and Burlatske, Russians have attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 17 times.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops attempted to advance 14 times in the areas of Novosilka and Novopil.

In the Orikhiv sector, the invaders made six assaults in the areas of Novoandriivka, Stepove and Mali Shcherbaky.

In the Prydniprovia sector, the enemy did not conduct any active operations yesterday.

The Ukrainian defense forces continued to conduct operations in the Kursk sector, where the Russians launched 10 assaults on the Ukrainian positions, 35 airstrikes, dropping 44 guided aerial bombs and firing 502 times at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, including four MLRS attacks.

The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remained unchanged, and there were no indications of the formation of enemy offensive groups.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian army’s total combat losses in Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to February 19, 2025 amounted to about 862,390 troops, including 1,300 invaders killed or wounded in the past day.
