Odesa hit by waves of Russian attacks: Eight killed, 16 wounded
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by Serhii Lysak, Head of the Odesa City Military Administration.
“Last night, the city endured several waves of attacks with missiles and strike UAVs. Unfortunately, six people were killed. My sincere condolences to their families and loved ones. Eleven others were injured and are receiving all necessary medical care,” the post reads.
According to Lysak, infrastructure facilities and a residential building in the Khadzhibeyskyi district were damaged. The blast wave also shattered more than 300 windows in several buildings.
Damage was also recorded in a park in the Prymorskyi district.
Lysak later reported that the death toll had risen to seven.
According to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, the city endured several waves of combined missile and drone strikes overnight. Seven people were killed and at least 12 were injured.
Port, critical, and residential infrastructure facilities in the city were damaged.
In at least three apartment buildings, facade walls and windows were destroyed. A dormitory and nearby buildings were also damaged.
Fires broke out at several infrastructure sites.
Lysak later updated the figures again, confirming the eighth fatality and 16 injured.
As previously reported, Russian forces attacked Odesa overnight on April 16; earlier reports indicated five people had been injured.
