Traitor who tipped FSB on location of army training center near Kharkiv gets 15 years in prison
That’s according to the SBU press office, Ukrinform reports.
"The perpetrator was part of the FSB human asset network, which was exposed in the regional center in June 2023. Then the SBU detained all three members of the criminal group, who were engaged in spotting enemy strikes on Kharkiv region," the statement reads.
The convict is a 64-year-old resident of one of the villages in Kharkiv district, who was remotely recruited by the FSB and tasked with seeking out sensitive information on the location of the Ukrainian Army’s training center, fortifications, and firing positions.
The suspect, who worked as a taxi driver, had been collecting such information including through small talk with his passengers.
The perpetrator would communicate with his handlers via a liaison – another traitor, Oleksandr Slisarenko, who after the capture of Kupiansk served as one of the leaders of the occupation administration.
In June, the SBU recalls, another member of the FSB human asset ring was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The investigation regarding the third suspect is in progress.
As reported earlier, in July, an FSB asset, a Lutsk philharmonic musician who helped Russia execute a strike on the local military airfield at the outset of the full-scale invasion, was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
