Ukrainian recruits, guided by UK instructors, are undergoing training on British soil, aiming to master the Starstreak man-portable anti-aircraft missile system.

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported this on Facebook with reference to the UK Ministry of Defense and Permanent Joint HQ of the UK Armed Forces, posting the relevant photos.

"UK Armed Forces have been training Ukrainian recruits on Starstreak, a short-range, portable, air-defence system optimised to provide defence against air threats," the statement reads.

The Starstreak is a British man-portable anti-aircraft missile system, a short-range air defense system optimized to provide protection against airborne threats.

The Starstreak missile travels at more than three times the speed of sound, being able to hit a target multiple times, being armed with three dart-like projectiles.

"The training will help Ukrainian recruits protect their sovereign skies from russia's illegal aerial advances," the military said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, following the 75th NATO Summit in Washington, Ukraine will receive five state-of-the-art air defense capabilities, including four Patriot batteries and one Samp/T battery from the USA, Germany, Romania, the Netherlands, and Italy, as well as dozens of tactical air defense systems.
