Spain to donate Hawk air defense battery to Ukraine this September

The Ministry of Defense of Spain will hand over to Ukraine an additional battery of Hawk air defense systems as early as this September.
That’s according to Spain’s Embassy in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports, referring to the embassy’s X profile.
"Spain will deliver the capabilities to ensure that Ukraine has a Hawk air defense battery in September. Defense Minister Margarita Robles said this during talks with her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov," the report reads.
Minister Umerov thanked Spain for its critical support.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, in July 2024, Spain started transferring a new batch of military aid to Ukraine, which includes 10 Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks, several excavators, and a large number of anti-tank missiles.
