Ukrainian agricultural exports grow by 18.6 percent

"For the first four months of 2019, the export totaled USD 7.1 billion, up 18.6% or 1.1 billion compared to the same period in 2018," acting agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Olha Trofimtseva posted on Facebook.

The official noted that the products were exported to Asian countries (41.6%, $2.96 billion), the countries of the European Union (33.5%, $2.38 billion); African countries (15.7%, $1.1 billion), the CIS countries (6,6%, $472.2 million), the US (0.5%, $35.6 million).

The following products were exported: corn (to the tune of $2.37 billion); sunflower, safflower or cottonseed oil ($1.47 billion); wheat and a mixture of wheat and rye ($805.5 million); oil cake and other solid wastes obtained from the extraction of vegetable fats and oils, with the exception of soybean and peanut oil waste ($373 million); soybeans ($344.6 million); poultry meat and offal ($199.2 million); oil cake and other solid waste of soybean oil ($108.7 million); soybean oil ($87.2 million); cigars, cigarillos and cigarettes, with tobacco or its substitutes ($78.3 million); rape seeds ($73.4 million).

During this period, the imports totaled $2.01 billion, the acting minister informed.
