Ex-CEO of Boryspil Airport sentenced to 5 years in prison
The court believes the former official inflicted losses on the budget amounting to UAH 15.7 million, according to the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).
"According to the verdict handed down by the Board of Judges of the HACC, the former chief of the state enterprise ‘Boryspil International Airport’ and the head of the lease relations service were found guilty of abuse of office, which caused more than UAH 15.7 million in damages," the statement says.
As noted, the court sentenced the former head of SE IA Boryspil to five years of imprisonment, banning him from holding administrative positions for three years and imposing a UAH 8,500 fine.
The head of the lease relations service was sentenced to four years of imprisonment involving the same ban and fine imposed.
The verdict can be appealed within 30 days from the day of its announcement to the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
The SAPO recalled that in 2014-2019, SOE officials handed certain airport premises to business entities based on pre-lease agreements. However, it turned out that the property in question belongs to the Ministry of Infrastructure and only the State Property Fund is entitled to lease it according in line with the appropriate tender procedure. Despite this fact, in violation of current regulations, officials illegally handed the specified premises to entrepreneurs at dumped prices, which resulted in major losses.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on September 7, 2020, former CEO of Boryspil Airport Yevhen Dykhne was charged with abuse of office.
