Over 9,000 fish died in Zaporizhzhia region due to lowered water levels in Kakhovka reservoir
According to Ukrinform, the State Agency of Land Reclamation and Fisheries of Ukraine reported this.
It is noted that the incident occurred around the Persha Prirva strait, near the village of Lysohirka, Zaporizhzhia region.
Over 9,000 specimens of silver carp were found in the water-filled deepened areas of the reservoir's floodplain with an area of more than 600 square meters. The weight of the dead aquatic bioresources is 2,296 kg. The amount of damage caused by the death of aquatic bioresources is over UAH 1.7 million.
The materials will be attached to the criminal proceedings opened by Zaporizhzhia regional prosecutor's office.
As reported, Russian occupation forces blew up the Kakhovka dam on the night of June 6. Currently, the consequences of flooding of settlements and critical infrastructure are being eliminated.
