DTEK joins UN initiative to restore Ukraine's energy sector

DTEK reported this on its Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Ukraine is facing the biggest energy problem among European countries since the Second World War. A global coalition of public and private partners can accelerate the restoration and modernization of our energy sector and, in turn, revive Ukraine after the devastating war," said DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.

According to him, restoring Ukraine's war-torn energy infrastructure will require significant international efforts. According to the World Bank, short-term reconstruction will require $5.7 billion, and full restoration by 2033 will require up to $47 billion.

At the same time, DTEK emphasizes that it is important to address the immediate issues.

"We are making every effort to effectively prepare the Ukrainian energy system for this winter together with international partners," the company added.

As reported, DTEK Energy has invested more than UAH 1.2 billion in TPP repairs since the beginning of 2023.
