NPC Ukrenergo recommends that Ukrainians reduce consumption during peak hours, as some energy facilities are undergoing repairs.

That's according the press service of the Ukrenergo company on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Air conditioners are actively buzzing in the houses, and the consumption rate is growing rapidly on the monitors of Ukrenergo dispatchers. As of 16:00, we have already crossed the threshold of the evening maximum consumption for yesterday. To ensure such a sharp rise in demand, electricity production must increase. But the capacity of power plants is now limited," the statement said.

It is noted that many power units of thermal and hydroelectric power plants are out of operation due to damage or are shut down for repairs. Also, several nuclear power units are undergoing scheduled repairs necessary for their active operation in winter.

Ukrenergo is convinced that every Ukrainian can help the power industry right now by reducing consumption.

To do this, in the evening (from 4 pm to 11 pm), it is recommended not to use air conditioning or to use it in an energy-efficient mode, not cooling the room below 23˚C. Also, if possible, reduce the use of an electric teapot and iron from 4 pm to 11 pm.

In addition, the use of powerful devices (washing machine, boiler) should be postponed to nighttime, using them alternately to distribute the load.

As reported, NPC Ukrenergo is actively continuing to restore the energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling. The company has already completed about 50-60% of the planned scope of work on its own networks.
