Germany's contribution to Energy Support Fund for Ukraine amounts to €225 million
This was announced by Deputy Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk during a meeting with representatives of the Bundestag, Ukrinform reports citing the Ministry of Energy.
"Today, thanks to our foreign and international partners who have become sponsors of the Fund, the amount of grant commitments has already increased to more than EUR 400 million. We greatly appreciate that Germany's total contribution is the largest in the history of the Fund's operation and currently amounts to EUR 225 million," said Hrynchuk.
In addition, 89 cargoes of humanitarian aid for the energy sector have arrived in Ukraine from Germany since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Hrynchuk reportedly briefed the Bundestag delegation on the results of the repair campaign at energy facilities and spoke about measures to strengthen the protection of energy infrastructure.
It is noted that the German MPs assured of their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine and its energy sector and their interest in receiving the most up-to-date information on the necessary assistance.
As reported, as of the end of December, the total amount of contributions to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine (declared and actually provided) has already reached EUR 405 million.
