Lyceum in Borodianka damaged by Russian strikes repaired at cost of over UAH 4 million
According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv police reported this on Facebook.
According to the investigation, in May 2022, in order to restore the damaged infrastructure, a private enterprise carried out major repairs to the educational buildings and dormitory of an agricultural lyceum.
The head of one of the departments of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration was appointed as the person responsible for the estimate.
Contrary to her official duties, when drawing up the contract, the defendant failed to analyse the prices of window and door metal-plastic blocks and approved the contractor's proposed cost of work, which was unreasonably inflated by more than UAH 4 million.
The former official was suspected under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - official negligence that caused grave consequences. She faces up to five years in prison.
The investigation into the involvement of other persons in the crime is ongoing.
As Ukrinform previously reported, in Zhytomyr region, the head of a village council was caught embezzling almost UAH 2 million during the purchase of generators.
