Russian fuel can still enter Ukrainian market - expert
This was announced by the director of the consulting group A95 Serhii Kuiun during a briefing at the Ukraine-Uninform Media Center.
"We import most of our liquefied gas from Poland. Poland, in turn, is the largest importer of Russian liquefied gas in the world - more than 100 thousand tons per month,” Kuiun said.
According to him, some of this gas enters the Ukrainian market with amended documents. Another part of the Russian liquefied natural gas replaces the volumes of LNG that Poland imports to Ukraine.
“Russian liquefied natural gas is 15-20% cheaper than non-Russian gas,” the expert said.
According to him, the National Security and Defense Council is to make a decision in the near future to counteract such an influx of Russian fuel into Ukraine.
In addition, there is a possibility that Russian-made diesel fuel may come through Romania. "We see batches being sold at prices that are not available on the market. This can only happen in one case - trade in Russian fuel,” explained Kuyun.
According to him, the Russians are adapting and trying to get into those markets where their products are subject to sanctions.
As reported, a group of Western insurers said that the price cap on Russian oil is not effective and has only encouraged more ships to join the shadow fleet.
