Government approves program to strengthen resilience of power system for 759 million
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting, Ukrinform reports citing the Prime Minister's Telegram.
"Today we are approving the procedure for using the funds of the State Fund for Decarbonization and Energy Efficient Transformation. We are talking about an additional program for energy efficiency and strengthening the resilience of Ukraine's energy system worth UAH 759 million," he said.
Shmyhal clarified that the funds will be used to reduce interest rates on loans for energy efficiency projects and the installation of alternative energy sources.
"The state is expanding the possibility of obtaining preferential loans so that businesses and people can reduce electricity consumption or create an additional source for its generation," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister reminded that this week the Russians had attacked the power system facilities again. According to him, restoration work is currently underway.
As reported earlier, at a June 20 meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief devoted to energy security, the President of Ukraine instructed the government to simplify the conditions for citizens to install solar panels and batteries.
