Ukrainian banks offering zero-rate loans for solar panels, wind turbines
This was reported by the Economy Ministry, Ukrinform reports.
"In communication with banks, we see an active interest in the zero-rate lending program. This means that Ukrainians can buy and install solar panels with energy storage systems or wind turbines in their own households, with credit funds. At the same time, the interest rate will remain at 0% because the interest is fully covered by our government," stressed the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko.
It is noted that JSC Oschadbank issued the first preferential loan in the amount of UAH 250,000 to a resident of Nizhyn (Chernihiv region). Recently, the town has been suffering from interruptions in energy supply amid Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
In addition, JSC Globus Bank issued the first loan for the purchase of a 5.6kW solar panel to a pensioner from Vinnytsia. She received UAH 315,000 at 0% with a 10-year payment term. The solar power generation system and energy storage equipment will be installed in her private household.
As reported, government programs for interest-free lending to citizens, as well as the "5-7-9% Affordable Loans" program for condominiums and apartment blocks for the purchase of alternative energy generating equipment and energy storage facilities, was enforced in Ukraine on July 20.
