Miroshnychenko: President ready to personally present his annual address in parliament
KYIV, June 4 /UKRINFORM/. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is ready to present his annual address in parliament if the opposition allows him to speak.
The president's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Party of Regions MP Yuriy Miroshnychenko, said this at a briefing on Tuesday.
"The president expressed his readiness to personally present his annual address... The question arises whether the opposition is ready to give the president an opportunity to speak. This question remains open, and so far we have not heard any constructive proposals from the opposition," Miroshnychenko said.
He said that the president would present the document in the format of speech, rather than reading out the entire text, which is very extensive and has currently been distributed to MPs for consideration. Miroshnychenko said he hoped that the attitude of opposition MPs to the president's speech would be tolerant and that the head of state would be able to come to parliament.
