Hungary interested in restoring good neighborly relations with Ukraine - Szijjarto
He stated this at a press conference with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv on Friday, February 7, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The Hungarian government is interested in restoring good neighborly relations with Ukraine. There is no such normal person who would not want to have a good relationship with his neighbor," he said.
At the same time, Szijjarto recalled that there is "one rather difficult issue" in bilateral contacts, which concerns the law on education.
He said that he had held a meeting with Ukrainian Education and Science Minister Hanna Novosad and expressed to her "two proposals" to solve this issue.
"We have agreed that Ms. Minister will urgently receive representatives of the Transcarpathian [Hungarian] Teachers' Association and that a decision will be made following these negotiations," Szijjarto said.
He added that the Hungarian side "wants to build several pragmatic projects that will give us success and help us restore our good neighborly relations."
