If a presidential election were set to be held in the near future, the incumbent Volodymyr Zelensky would win the first round, supported by 31.1% of Ukrainians who have already made their choice.

That’s according to a survey conducted by the Rating sociological group, Ukrinform reports.

"If the presidential election took place in the near future, 31.1% would vote for Volodymyr Zelensky (among those who are set to vote and have made their choice), against 27% reported in early August," say sociologists.

A runner-up is a leader of European Solidarity, former President Petro Poroshenko, who would see support of 13.3% of respondents.

Support for other candidates would remain below 2%.

According to the poll, the leader of the so-called anti-rating is Petro Poroshenko: 45% of respondents would not vote for him under any circumstances. Also, 38% would not vote for Tymoshenko, 35% - for Boyko, 25% - for Lyashko, and 24% - for Zelensky. Every sixth or seventh Ukrainian would not vote under any circumstances for Yatsenyuk, leader of Svoboda (Freedom) party Oleh Tyahnybok, and Murayev.

The survey was run on September 2-4 among 2,500 respondents aged 18 and over in all regions of Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas, through CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews) method, based on a random sample of cell phone numbers. The margin of error with a 0.95 confidence level is within 2%.
