Czech PM convinced Putin not to nuke Ukraine
The head of government stated this on Czech television on Sunday, Ukrinform reports.
"The probability that anyone will take advantage of this is minimal. Vladimir Putin is also aware that this would be the end for Russia," Fiala said.
He is convinced that "there is no threat that he can really use it", but he wants to divide and intimidate the societies of the democratic West.
According to the Czech prime minister, the only possible response to such behavior is a resolute, clear, and firm position on the part of the West toward Russian expansionism. The only thing people like Vladimir Putin understand is strength, Fiala stressed.
Fiala noted that Putin never hid his ambitions to expand the Russian Empire to the borders of the former Soviet Union. The fact that the response to Russia's annexation of Ukrainian Crimea eight years ago remained weak only prompted the imperial dictator to pursue his ambitions.
It should be recalled that a week ago, Vladimir Putin ordered that the country’s strategic deterrence forces that operate nuclear weapons be put on high alert.
