President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the format of Ukraine's participation in the G20 summit is currently unknown and will depend on the situation in the country and at the front.

"As for the G20, there is still much time till November. It's too early to talk about it. I outlined the conditions under which we are ready to attend [the summit]. And I am grateful that we were invited, Ukraine was invited. The format will depend on many factors. First of all, on what will happen in our country, on the battlefields, at the front," Zelensky said at a joint meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The Head of State also briefly commented on Russia's intentions to organize a trial of captured Ukrainian defenders and answered the question of whether this would become a "red line" that would make peace negotiations with the Russian Federation impossible.

"This is not about red lines. Here, it seems to me that human conditions are clear. If we, our prisoners, are treated exactly as you said [a trial will be arranged], then it is not about red lines. What negotiations could be held, and what could we talk about at all? That's the point. I have nothing to add. I have already said everything I think about it," the President emphasized.

Earlier, Zelensky stated that Russia would cut itself off from the negotiations if it held a trial of the captured Ukrainian defenders.

As reported, the invaders plan to hold a trial of Ukrainian defenders in the temporarily captured Mariupol. Ukraine calls on the entire civilized world to prevent this from happening. Indonesian President and G20 chairman Joko Widodo invited President Zelensky to participate in the G20 summit. Previously, invitations were sent to all members, including Russian president Putin.
