Kostin: Decisions we are working on will help ensure lasting global peace
"The Nuremberg trials, which we often mentioned these days, ensured peace in Europe for many decades. And I am sure that the decisions we are working on will help ensure lasting peace in Ukraine and the whole world. This is our joint responsibility to the victims of this war and future generations," Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin posted on Facebook.
According to him, during the United for Justice conference in Lviv, significant practical steps were taken to build a network of full and comprehensive accountability for international crimes.
"We not only discussed ways to restore justice for Ukraine and Ukrainians but also improved global mechanisms of accountability for international crimes," Kostin noted.
He expressed his gratitude to foreign colleagues and representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, including President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska.
"I am grateful to all my colleagues. Special gratitude to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the First Lady, the President and the First Lady of Latvia, the President of the European Parliament, all the conference participants, partners and the team who made this possible. You showed that the desire for justice unites all of us," he added.
