Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs said that Latvia will not issue humanitarian or other types of visas to Russians, and will not change the restrictions on border crossing introduced last year, even amid the current events in Russia

Edgars Rinkēvičs wrote about this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Latvia is closely following the developing situation in Russia and exchanging information with allies. Border security has been strengthened, visa or border entry from Russians leaving Russia due to current events won’t be considered. No direct threat to Latvia at this time," Rinkēvičs wrote.

In particular, Prime Minister Krisjanis Karinš said that the eastern border is under tight control, the Latvian government, responsible authorities and services are in close coordination and are monitoring the events in Russia.
