President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will discuss with NATO heads of state and government the provision of military aid to Kyiv, the invitation of Ukraine to NATO, and security guarantees.

President Zelensky told journalists after arriving at the NATO summit in Vilnius, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"On our agenda for today we have three priority questions. The first one is new weapons packages for supporting our army on the battlefield. The second is the invitation to NATO," the head of state said.

According to him, for today “we hear and understand that we will have this invitation” when security measures allow.

"I want to discuss with our partners all these things," Zelensky said.

He added that another issue on the agenda is security guarantees for Ukraine.

"And the third - we will talk about it and fight for this - these are security guarantees for Ukraine on the way to NATO," Zelensky said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the day before, on the first day of the summit, the heads of state and government of the NATO member countries agreed to cancel the requirement for a Membership Action Plan for Ukraine and said they would extend an invitation to Ukraine to join the Alliance after "fulfilling the conditions".

The inaugural meeting of the new NATO-Ukraine Council will be held at the highest level on Wednesday.

President Zelensky will also hold a number of bilateral meetings.
