Accountability, transparency crucial to investment in Ukraine's reconstruction - G7 ambassadors
That's according to the Twitter account of the Japanese Presidency of the G7 Ambassadors' Support Group in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
The ambassadors noted that transparency and accountability are crucial to involve the private sector in the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.
"We stressed the importance of the timely selection of the new head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, restoration of the asset declaration system and political party financing reporting, and strengthening anti-corruption institutions such as SAPO [Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office] and ARMA [Asset Recovery and Management Agency]," the diplomats said.
The G7 ambassadors also encouraged the adoption of laws to ensure a strong and independent Anti-Monopoly Committee and to improve corporate governance of SOEs, in line with OECD guidelines.
Earlier reports said that Shmyhal had met with the G7 and EU ambassadors to discuss key topics and reforms aimed at strengthening Ukraine.
