Ukraine wants to hold peace summit this autumn - president

He said this at a meeting with the heads of foreign diplomatic institutions, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

The head of state noted that one of the main guidelines for the work of Ukrainian ambassadors should be the implementation of the Peace Formula.

"The Peace Formula, gradually presented by Ukraine, is gaining the support of the world majority. The absolute majority of countries and nations around the world seek peace and international calm, security and the reliable dismantling of threats created by Russia. The ten points of the Peace Formula reflect exactly this important task," Zelensky said.

According to him, some countries and international organizations have already assumed specific commitments and are cooperating with Ukraine to implement the Peace Formula. At the same time, the president expressed hope that even more partners would be involved.

"Public opinion in the countries of your stay, leaders and their key advisers, the entire political class - everyone should know and understand Ukraine's desire for a fair and just peace. There are countries that can help with the security and political points of the Peace Formula, with issues of justice. There are countries whose humanitarian influence, role, traditions in international relations can help with the return of Ukrainian children who have been forcibly deported to Russia, with the return of our prisoners of war and civilians. We are doing our best at the national level. You must feel the mood within your countries, you must know the emotional and political levers and direct them for the full implementation of all ten points of the Peace Formula," Zelensky said, addressing the diplomats.

In this context, he noted the special importance of working with the countries of the Global South, which the Russian Federation is constantly trying to manipulate.

Zelensky stressed the need to organize and hold the Global Peace Summit.

"We are working to make it happen this autumn. The world majority is needed and can be represented at the summit: representatives of the North and the South, the East, the West. Autumn is very close, but there is still time to prepare for the summit and involve the majority of the world's countries. This depends on your activity," he said.

As was reported earlier, Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelensky's office, met in Copenhagen last June with national security advisors and political advisors from Brazil, the UK, Denmark, the EU, Italy, India, Canada, Germany, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the U.S., Turkey, France and Japan, as well as representatives of the European Commission and the European Council.

The second meeting at the level of national security advisers and political directors to discuss the key principles of peace based on the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine will take place on August 5-6 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

In November 2022, Zelensky presented a ten-point Ukrainian Peace Formula in his address to the G20 summit participants.
