Peace formula: meeting on Ukraine starting in Saudi Arabia
This is reported by Ukrinform.
According to the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva, at the summit in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), which will be attended by representatives of more than 40 countries, responsibility will be shared between participating nations for co-organization or co-leadership in certain points of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
The head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, stated that Ukraine's strategy for the implementation of Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula has three levels. The first is meetings with ambassadors accredited to Ukraine for a detailed consideration of each of the points of the Peace Formula. The second level is negotiations in Saudi Arabia at the level of national security and political advisers "in order to find optimal formulations and mechanisms for the implementation of the Ukrainian peace plan." The third is the inaugural Global Peace Summit involving state leaders, at which the implementation of the Formula will take place.
The United States perceives the scheduled negotiations in Saudi Arabia regarding the Peace Formula in Ukraine as the start of the process, since the establishment of real peace requires the willingness on the part of Russia, first of all, to be part of peace diplomacy.
The meeting will last through August 6.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Zelensky's Peace Formula refers to ensuring radiation, nuclear, food, and energy security, the release of all prisoners and deportees, the implementation of the UN Charter, the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and world order, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities, the return of justice, countering ecocide, preventing escalation, and fixating the end of the war.
