Security guarantees for Ukraine: Greece joins G7 declaration - Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a press conference following the meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece, Ukrinform reports.
"Greece joined the G7 declaration of security guarantees for Ukraine. We will continue this work at the bilateral level to make the format of security guarantees a model for other states that need effective security guarantees. The world will definitely become more stable as a result of such joint security work," said the president of Ukraine.
Zelensky also thanked Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for supporting Ukraine's European integration and recalled that as early as this year, Ukraine plans to start negotiations on EU membership.
He also expressed gratitude for Greece's support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
"This sends a much-needed signal that Greece seeks peace, just as we all in Ukraine seek a just peace," Zelensky said.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived on Monday for a visit to Greece. Prior to that, he visited Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
