Ukraine, Czechia to sign security agreement in July - Fiala

Ukraine and the Czech Republic will sign a security agreement at the summit of the European Political Community to be held in the United Kingdom on July 18.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced this on the social media site X, Ukrinform reports.

"President Volodymyr Zelensky and I agreed yesterday that we will conclude negotiations on the text of the Czech-Ukrainian security agreement before the NATO summit in Washington. We will then sign it at the European Political Community summit in London on July 18," Fiala said.

The fourth meeting of the European Political Community will be held at the Blenheim Palace in the UK on July 18. About 50 European leaders are expected to attend the summit.

The European Political Community is made up of the 27 EU member states and 20 of their partners, including Ukraine. The first three summits were held in the Czech Republic (2022), Moldova (2023) and Spain (2023).

On June 27, Zelensky and Fiala discussed the supply of ammunition for Ukraine and the country's integration into the EU and NATO.
