The governments of Ukraine and the Czech Republic have signed an agreement on cooperation in the fight against crime and ensuring public order and security.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Cooperation with Czech colleagues in the fight against crime is one of the most active among European countries. Since the beginning of this year alone, more than 2,000 contacts have been made between the police departments of Ukraine and the Czech Republic," he said.

According to Klymenko, Ukrainian and Czech law enforcement officers are successfully implementing the "Cyber Security" project, participating in the work of the Ukrainian Task Force, created on the basis of Europol to prevent cases of human trafficking.

"The previous agreement between our governments in this area was concluded more than 25 years ago. During this time, legislation has changed and new law enforcement agencies have begun to work. The updated agreement ensures cooperation in the field of prevention, detection and fight against crime. It activates the process of exchanging information and responding to challenges facing our states," Klymenko said.
