Trump: I told Putin to never go into Ukraine
As reported by Ukrinform, he stated this in an interview with Bloomberg.
Trump once again boasted of his good relationship with Putin.
"Putin and I got along very well, with our relationship. We were never in danger of a war. He would have never gotten into Ukraine. I said, don’t ever, ever go into Ukraine," said the former U.S. president.
According to Trump, the current security situation around the world "could end up in a World War III." In this regard, he blamed his election rival, incumbent President Joe Biden.
"We had no war. No war other than ISIS. I finished them off in a very short period of time. I was told it would take five years, it took me almost no time, we knocked them out... Russia took no land," Trump stressed.
At the same time, Trump noted he was contemplating a Russia sanctions ease as he is not a supporter of such restrictions.
He also stated that if U.S. leadership were "smart”, countries such as the Russian Federation, China, and North Korea would not be U.S. adversaries.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Politico, wrote with reference to experts, who spoke on condition of anonymity that Trump is in talks with Putin on how much Ukrainian territory "can be retained" by the Russian Federation.
