Zelensky enforces new Maritime Security Strategy

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine signed a decree putting into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the nation’s new Maritime Security Strategy.

Zelensky stated said this in the latest address to the nation, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Today, I signed a decree that puts into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the new Maritime Security Strategy of Ukraine. This document takes note of the security shifts and innovations that we have ensured, including in the Black Sea, in building up our capabilities. This is a modern strategy, and we will implement it together with our partners. I am soon to discuss the details of the Strategy with them – with those who, like us, seek stable security for their regions and the whole world," the president said.

The head of the Ukrainian state thanked everyone who helps, including all those working for the Ukrainian government, soldiers, security and intelligence operatives, and all representatives of civil society who were involved in drafting the Strategy.

As reported, on July 6, Zelensky said Ukraine was working on drafting a new maritime strategy.
