Meloni, Xi talk Russian war in Ukraine

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, during her visit to Beijing the ongoing war in Ukraine, the situation of the Middle East, and other pressing issues.

This is reported by ANSA with reference to Meloni’s office, Ukrinform saw.

As noted, the leaders "addressed priority issues on the international agenda, from the war in Ukraine to the risks of a further escalation of the situation in the Middle East”.

The parties also discussed the growing tensions in the Indo-Pacific region.

In addition, Meloni and Xi raised a number of other important issues of common interest, "from Artificial Intelligence to the fight against climate change and the UN Security Council reform process", as well as bilateral relations.

Meloni is visiting China for the first time since assuming the post of Prime Minister of Italy.
