White House: Biden administration set to deliver full Ukraine support by end of term

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made this statement during a briefing, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I don't have a number for you or an estimation of how much money would be left or not left in the next 45 days… but we are committed to make sure that Ukraine has the resources that it needs," the spokesperson said.

This comment followed recent media reports citing administration sources that suggested it may be unlikely for the current government to spend all remaining funds from the aid package approved by Congress in April.

When asked whether President Biden is concerned that his successor might halt aid to Ukraine if funds are left unspent, Jean-Pierre noted that the process is ongoing.

She also emphasized that U.S. support for Ukraine has been based on bipartisan agreement and that this context should not be overlooked.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Pentagon estimates that the U.S. currently has about $9 billion available for military assistance to Ukraine. This amount includes $2.21 billion under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and $6.8 billion under presidential drawdown authority.
