Dutch top diplomat praises EU sanctions targeting Russia's "shadow fleet"

The Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, noted that the new EU sanctions package targets Russia's "shadow fleet" of tankers, welcoming the adoption of the 15th package.
Veldkamp stated this on X, as seen by Ukrinform.
"I welcome the EU's adoption of a 15th sanctions package against Russia. This package targets Russia's shadow fleet and adds more individuals and entities to the sanctions list. The Netherlands has strongly advocated for these measures, ramping up pressure on the Kremlin," he wrote.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, EU ambassadors agreed on the 15th package of sanctions against Russia, which includes the “shadow fleet” of tankers helping Russia profit off hydrocarbon sales.
European Union ambassadors on Wednesday, December 11, agreed on a new package of Russia sanctions in response to its aggression against Ukraine.
