It is important for Ukraine that the international community continues supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stated this in an interview with Japanese broadcaster NHK, Ukrinform reports.

"It is extremely important that we continue supporting Ukraine to strengthen its position," he said.

The head of the Finnish government stated that now is not the time to reduce support for Ukraine, but the international community needs to increase it and show Russian leader Vladimir Putin that he cannot win even at the negotiating table.

According to Orpo, there can be no peace in Ukraine without the Ukrainian people.

He also stated that he supports U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's desire for peace in Ukraine, but Ukraine must be present at the negotiating table.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, late October, during a meeting in Reykjavik with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine thanked Finland for all the aid packages and this country's leadership in the civil protection coalition on setting up shelters.
