Military officials to meet in UK to discuss peace agreement plans – Starmer
As reported by The Guardian, he made this statement following a virtual meeting of the "coalition of the willing," according to Ukrinform.
“Our militaries will meet on Thursday this week here in the United Kingdom to put strong and robust plans in place to swing in behind a peace deal and guarantee Ukraine’s future security,” Starmer said.
He also stated that the plans would involve cooperation with the United States.
“The position on the US hasn’t changed. I’ve been clear that it needs to be done in conjunction with the United States … We are talking to the US on a daily basis,” Starmer added, noting that his national security adviser returned from the U.S. on Saturday.
He further added: "We will accelerate our military support, tighten our sanctions on Russia’s revenues, and continue to explore all lawful routes to ensure that Russia pays for the damage it has done to Ukraine."
The UK Prime Minister also described Putin's response to the ceasefire proposal as “not good enough”.
As reported by Ukrinform, the online meeting of leaders in support of Ukraine, held on March 15, included 29 state leaders.
On March 11, a meeting took place in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) with delegations from the U.S. and Ukraine. Following the meeting, a joint statement was issued.
Ukraine expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire, which could be extended by mutual agreement, provided that the Russian Federation accepts and simultaneously implements it.
