President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose sanctions against 10 Russian mobile operators and internet service providers.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Office of the President.

"Among the sanctioned companies are ‘Luhansk Communications’ and ‘Mobile Communication Systems,’ which Russia uses to spread its narratives and lies about the situation in Ukraine. Sanctions have also been imposed on the federal satellite and telecommunications operator “Amtel-Zvyazok,” which provides communications, in particular, for the Russian authorities, and the company “Cosmic Communications,” which provides secure communication channels for waging war against Ukraine," the statement reads.

It is noted that the sanctioned companies provide secure communication channels for the occupiers and their authorities, as well as internet access in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine for entities serving Russia. Internet service providers, satellite communication operators, and companies that broadcast Russian television channels have also been sanctioned.

In addition, Ukraine will share all information about these companies with its partners and raise the issue of synchronizing sanctions across international jurisdictions.

“Any activity in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is illegal. Companies that knowingly operate in the TOT and serve the occupying authorities become toxic to the international business and financial systems. That is why Ukraine is imposing sanctions designed to make their activities impossible not only in the temporarily occupied territories but also anywhere outside Russia,” commented Vladyslav Vlasyuk, the President’s Advisor and Representative on Sanctions Policy.

As reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose sanctions against Russian propaganda media and judges. In particular, sanctions have been imposed on Moscow judge Timur Vakhrameev, who was involved in the imprisonment of the tortured Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roshchina.
