No public access to beaches in Odesa this year
The spokesman of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Serhii Bratchuk said this on the air of Kyiv24 TV channel, Ukrinform reports.
"The fact that the building belonging to the resort sector was hit indicates that there will be no holiday season again this year. I am also sure that even after our victory, we will be talking about the demining of the Black Sea for a long time," Bratchuk said.
However, a spokesperson noted that recreational areas on the coast will function, according to safety rules. For example, a swimming pool in a recreation area should be installed at a safe distance from the sea. Also, the facility must comply with safety rules when an air raid alarm is sounded, otherwise, according to Bratchuk, it will be closed.
"Speaking about the economy of Odesa region, there must be budget revenues. There will be no tourist season, but there will be a vacation season. We will take into account last year's experience. There will be no dancing on bones, but we will create safe places for recreation with specially implemented safety rules," Bratchuk said.
The spokesperson also reminded that last year there were many tragic deaths cases and injuries on the coast because of mine explosions.
"I don't want hands, feet and heads of Odesa residents and visitors to fly over the sea or beaches. We had many tragic incidents, so all measures will be taken to protect people," emphasized Bratchuk.
As reported, last year, beaches in Odesa region were not opened due to the threat of mines and Russian attacks. Special recreation areas were set up on the coast, which was separated from the sea by a net. Law enforcement officers were on duty along the coast and did not allow desperate people to approach the water.
