Russian troops strike four communities of Sumy region

On the morning of July 18, Russian troops struck four communities of Sumy region, northern Ukraine, with mortars, heavy machine guns, and rocket artillery.

"From 04:30, the Russians started firing on our communities from their territory. Ten mortar strikes were launched on Hlukhiv community at 04:30. After 05:00, Shalyhyne community suffered eight mortar attacks. From 06:00 to 07:00, Khotin community came under massive mortar and rocket artillery fire. At about 07:00, ten strikes from MLRS on Mykolayivka village community were launched. At 06:30, two rounds of 15 shots each from a heavy machine gun on Khotin community were recorded," Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, posted on Facebook.

No casualties have been reported. The information about the destruction is being clarified.

On the evening of July 17, the Russians again shelled the Atynske psychoneurological residential care facility with mortars. An agricultural enterprise of the community was also damaged, Zhyvytskyy added.

As reported, Russian troops shelled five communities of Sumy region with mortars and artillery on July 17.
