Four injured as two shells hit high-rise buildings in Kherson
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"On March 1, at 10:53 in Kherson, shells hit two nine-story residential buildings, destroying apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors and setting fire to one of the buildings, wounding four people," the statement said.
Rescuers added that the fire was extinguished, but there was a gas leak.
Ukrinform reported earlier that the shelling targeted a house in the Tavriya neighborhood of Kherson.
Kherson residents are asked to stay in the shelters, the situation is being clarified. According to reports, the aggressor captures civilians.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure, with missiles hitting residential buildings. Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was declared.
