Rubizhne-based maternity inpatient department completely destroyed with Russian shells

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Recently, Russian occupation troops have shelled Rubizhne City Multidisciplinary Hospital with artillery. Destructions are horrible: the obstetrics and gynecology department was destroyed completely. Now there is one maternity inpatient department less in Luhansk Region,” Haidai wrote.

Last time a child was born in the basement premises at this maternity inpatient department during heavy shelling at 11:23 p.m., March 11, 2022.

“A nice and healthy girl, Vasyliska, was born. She and her mother have been under the care of health workers in the basement premises since then. […] One more pregnant woman was evacuated to the closest maternity hospital in the city of Bakhmut,” Haidai noted.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile strikes on residential areas in Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians in Ukraine.
